Audio quality bad; experience awesome
For me, this recording was lightning in a bottle. Gibson’s reading has none of the polish of a professional voice actor, and that is why it’s fantastic. He gives nuance to the voices that must come from having heard them in his head as he was writing. There is plenty of humor and absolute charm in his recording. The music and integrated sound effects throughout could easily be thought of as cheesy and dated, but they capture an alternate future, one that branched off and remained stubbornly low tech in some respects and frighteningly advanced in others: exactly what cyberpunk should be. Neuromancer was the future dreamed by a Beat poet, and this recording gets closer to the heart of that future than any other book I can think of.

Love the book, love the format
These glitchy pirated mp3s of the author's deadpan drawl are the perfect old-timey futuristic format for this old-timey futuristic novel.

Extraordinary audio, at extraordinary low quality.
This is Seminal Cyberpunk. As read by the author, William Gibson. The quality is horrid. This audio cassette set is quite rare, and even more rare on compact disk. If anyone out there has a copy and has the bandwidth to record and digitize at a higher quality.. please upload.
